January 16 2009:
A new year is upon us and I resolve to________, no wait I will_________, ok that clearly didn't work out, how about I don't________. If you are like many other people our New Year's resolutions keep changing, or aren't met. People say they will work out, join a gym, and by march are too busy to go, or they say they will be nicer to people but yelled and honked at the guy who cut them off in traffic. I know I am guilty of not keeping resolutions.
People tend to not think realistically when they make resolutions, and most of them start with I will, or I will not, and usually they are ways we can improve ourselves. This year let's all try something different. Let's make resolutions that start with I will or will not, but the benefit others, and strengthen our relationships with Christ. After all it is him who blessed us with a new year.
We should all try to resolve to do things like, help others, pray daily, dig into God's word daily, be kind to others, etc... I encourage, no I CHALLENGE you to seek God daily. Dive into his word, pray and talk to God. We get to know more and strengthen relationships with friends by talking to them, the same is true with God.
Look to an adult to help if you are stuck on where to start in the Bible as it can be overwhelming.
